Choosing a Patio Furniture Umbrella and Other Accessories

If you have patio furniture, you definitely need accessories such as a patio furniture umbrella. After all, what's the point of a beautiful patio set if you're stuck suffering under the hot sun? Patio umbrellas are large enough to provide shade for your table and make sitting outside more comfortable. Many tables come with an umbrella already included or have a space to install one. If not, you can get an offset pole model that is just as good. If an umbrella didn't come with your patio furniture, choose one that has durable weatherproof fabric and coordinates with your furniture.

Speaking of furniture, you can make it more comfortable and attractive with the right seat cushions. You will want cushions made from weather resistant fabric that is thick enough to resist rips and tears. Fabric should also be UV resistant so that it won't fade. Choose something thick and comfortable, in a color or print that coordinates with your furniture. Some people prefer solid colors for a conservative look, while others like a romantic floral print. The retro look is big these days, and features bold, colorful prints.

Another accessory you may want is a patio heater. A patio heater is designed to warm up an outdoor area on a chilly day or evening. There are many different types of heater models on the market these days, including those that are free standing, wall mounted and table top. There are different size heaters made for different size patios, so be sure to choose one that is appropriate for your area. And, be sure to follow all safety precautions when it comes to installation and use. A more natural form of the patio heater that some people prefer is the patio fire pit, a safe way to bring the heat and splendor of a campfire to your yard.

Many people also like a water fountain in their outdoor area. A pretty bubbling fountain provides soothing sound and crystalline beauty -- and the birds like it, too! Imagine sitting on your comfortable cushions, under a shady patio furniture umbrella on a sunny day. You're surrounded by the beauty of nature and the soft sounds of chirping birds and flowing water. Add in some good food, drink, friends and family, and you've got most people's idea of a perfect day!
